ABSTRACT : This study aims to analyze the effect of occupational safety and health (OSH) and the work environment on employee productivity with organizational commitment as a mediating variable at PT Muara Kembang Shipyard. The background of this research is based on the high number of work accidents, less than optimal implementation of OSH, and a less conducive work environment, which impacts productivity reduction. This study uses a quantitative method with an explanatory research approach. Primary data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) techniques with the help of SmartPLS. The results showed that occupational safety and health have a positive and significant effect on work productivity, and the work environment has a negative and insignificant impact on work productivity. Occupational safety and health and the work environment positively and significantly affect organizational commitment. Organizational commitment is proven to mediate the influence of OSH on productivity. These findings suggest that improving OSH implementation, improving working conditions, and strengthening employee commitment can encourage more optimal productivity in the shipyard industry.
