ABSTRACT : The purpose of this study is explaining the mediating role of job satisfaction in the relationshipamongcompensation, workloadand employeeretentionof PT. Jalur Nugraha Ekakurir Express (JNE Express)Denpasar Branch. Data were acculatedfrom70 respondents.Data analysis found that The effect of bothcompensationsatisfaction and work load are statistically significant. Thehigherthecompensationthehigherjobsatisfactionandthelowertheintentionofemployeetoleavethecompany,itdoesmeanthattheemployeeretentionwilltendtobehigher. Thefindingssuportedpreviousfindingregardingtheeffectsofcompensationonjobsatisfactionandemployeeretention. Theeffectofworkloadonjobsatisfactionispositivelysignificant. Thecompanyimplementedperformancebasedcompensationsystem. The findingshowedthatthemore individualemployeedeliverthepackage, thehigher finansial rewardtheyget. Itisthereasonwhyworkloadis notnecessarilycausedhigherintentiontoleavethecompany, becausethe individual employeepaidbasedon hisachievedproductivity.
